So i have had my baby for about a year and half. got him when he was still green (so sweet!! fell alseep in my hoodie while i was driving!) for the first few weeks he would sit on my computer will i played games, and he would let me feed him. Then my roommates brother came in to town and started to poke him. over and over again. I tried my hardest to get him away. It ended with Gene tail whipping and almost biteing him.
ever since then i can't touch him, for the first week i couldn't get my hand in the tank to feed him. to clean his cage i had to put him a cat carrier (with a dirty shirt, something my mom said to try, to get him used to my smell again.)
Its been about 9 mouths since then and i can clean the cage now with him awake, and feed him but i can't touch him. I can't get him out. I need to becuase i need to get a bigger cage. Is there anything that i can do? I've tried just setting my hand on one side of the cage with him on the other and he sits there watching me. if i get to close he will puff up and hiss at me. If i try to touch him i get a hiss and a tail whip.
Well i ever be able to touch him again??

Keep working with him, sometimes you have to push pass their boundaries to gain any trust. Sometimes that includes forced handling and they learn that tail whipping and biting doesn't get them anywhere. Which means you might have to take some for the team. Got any gloves?
