Lighting Questions

I have a few questions, being brand new to this. We have a 40-gallon Zilla breeder reptile tank. Sliding screen top. The lamp we got is a Zilla reflector dome, rated for up to 150 watt bulbs. the bulb we bought is an exo-terra solar glow 125 w. Our questions are several:

the bulb is slightly larger than the dome. How can we sit the light on the tank without the bulb touching the screen? What do you use to elevate the lamp enough to keep the bulb out of contact with anything, but not cause a fire with whatever is elevating it?

Is this bulb going to be too hot for our new black and white tegu? Bobby said we needed 100w, but it was either the 125, or a 60. they didn't have any other size.

How can we fix this problem of ours? What's the best way to give our tegu enough heat and light?

They make lamp stands specifically for this and sell them at most pet stores. Or you can do what I did and gut a normal metal floorlamp and rewire your lamp into it.

Awesome. that's about what I was telling my husband, because I remember my dad having those huge old metal shop lamps, and the size of one of these is about right for that. Thanks for the advice! How far above the tank is it recommended for the bulb to be?
