Jumping?

First off, sorry for posting so many new threads recently! I'll stop soon, maybe...

Anyway, so I was in the bathroom feeding my dude and after about 10mins of wanting to be alone in a corner, he de-grumpified and came over and started crawling and rubbing on me. He crawled onto the bath tub side, down my shoulders, and eventually started to crawl over my head. It's not the most pleasant feeling having tegu nails and tegu tongue flicking my hair, but I let him do it 'cause I want him to feel like we're buds like that. So he was chilling on my head for a couple minutes, when all of a sudden he springs off of it and attempts to land on the sink counter like four feet away. He missed, because he's a tegu fat in weird places, winds up falling down back onto the floor. He seemed okay, but was super jumpy after when I went to put him back in his cage.

Are tegus known for their ability to jump? I thought they were ground dwellers... this dude can jump a few feet up onto something no problem, it's crazy!

Yes they can jump very well, but be careful, they can hurt themselves.

Yea, my little guy jumped like crazy, and he could do it pretty well too. After about 6 months she stoped trying to jump to things though.

And no worries about posting threads, it just means you care about your little guy.

They use their tails to give them extra thrust, and they can get a surprising amount of air. I try not to let Kodo jump off of things so he doesn't get hurt.

Haha, I swear I have whiplash from how hard he jumped off of me. I guess I'm honored he feels safe enough to use me as a catapult? Thanks for the replies, guys. I'll make sure he stays away from high points.
