Is it true that female tegus dont tame down as much as males? becase i have a deposit down on a female from varnyard and if so should i change to a male?

personally, i've noticed females to be a bit more snippy, but i've really only ever dealt with 2... and they weren't socialized very well...

I personally dont have a tegu, but a good friend of mine does. She's pretty chill, never snaps or shows any aggression. She'll take food from your hand gently, even if she's super hungry

Only female horrior stories i hear come from husbands dealing with an angery miss at home....

Sorry had to say it. In tegus i have heard that females with a nest and eggs can be a bit nippy but i dont blame her. Females house by themselves are just as likly as a male to calm down. Depends how much you put into her.

I see no different in the sexes if you are not breeding. However a bred nesting female is one of the meanest animals on the planet.
