Is it true that female tegus dont tame down as much as males? becase i have a deposit down on a female from varnyard and if so should i change to a male?

on here. i was reading old post from awhile back and people was saying there males was more tame. but thanks for clearing that up for me bobby

personally, i've noticed females to be a bit more snippy, but i've really only ever dealt with 2... and they weren't socialized very well...

I personally dont have a tegu, but a good friend of mine does. She's pretty chill, never snaps or shows any aggression. She'll take food from your hand gently, even if she's super hungry :)

Only female horrior stories i hear come from husbands dealing with an angery miss at home....

Sorry had to say it. In tegus i have heard that females with a nest and eggs can be a bit nippy but i dont blame her. Females house by themselves are just as likly as a male to calm down. Depends how much you put into her.

I see no different in the sexes if you are not breeding. However a bred nesting female is one of the meanest animals on the planet.
