Information Needed On Mesh Size

I'm looking at getting a dog kennel for my tegus - specific dimensions are as follows: 10' long x 5' wide x 6' high. The mesh size is 2'' wide x 4'' tall. Does anyone with experience with cages know if an adult tegu would be capable of escaping through 2'' meshing?

I will probably have to construct the top and bottom for this cage and secure firmly so that my tegus can't escape. Also, what do you guys think about the cage dimensions? Too narrow at 5' or would this be sufficient?

If the tegu can fit his/her head through the mesh it will definetly try to escape.

Maybe put a border around the base of the cage 2-3 feet high of particle board so they cant escape.
