So I've found tutorials on how to build a cage but none that say the cost in materials. On an estimate how much would it cost to build an 8x5x5 from plywood (OSB plywood)? How much to build a 10x10x10? I'd do a top opening door.
You will be over $300 when you are done..maybe even $400 if you make it nice.
Also, reconsider the opening top. Front doors will make it easier to clean and easier to access your Tegu.
I was thinking of doing a top opening door for deep substrate, then a side opening door on a hinge. That way the substrate won't get caught in the track. $300 isn't bad at all. One question though, Is plywood sheathing the same as plywood? I'm not a builder.
One more question I know the size wood I need, but what thickness of plywood should I get? Would it be a good idea to have the bottom plywood be thicker than the top? Since it has to hold the substrate?
