how long to let polyurethane set?

I just finished sealing the cage with polyurethane, inside and out. I was wondering what a good amount of time would be to let it sit before putting the tegus inside. I've heard 2 days but I just wanted to double check with everyone. The sooner the better since they are living a clear rubbermaid tote at the moment but they are still babies.
