My lights are set up on a timer they come on at 8am. My biggest male midgard is always the first one up at 8:30 basking all day long then he is usualy in bed by 7pm active all day. My female Mylnor is awake at 10 bask till 4 then in bed. my other male Murphy lol doesnt wake up till almost noon basks till bout 5 then goes to bed..there lights turn off at 8 pm. non of them bask for awhile then burrow for awhile.. they all stay and bask or digs , have free roam. etc

When kept outside, it's very hard to say. It changes throughout the year based on temperatures. But in general he is most active in the earlier hours...

When kept indoors, I altered his lighting schedule to better match my echedule. He woke up and basked until I got home from work, then he would free roam for several hours until lights were about to go off.

I think activity levels are always going to be season and weather dependant. In the summer months my Tegu spends many hours a day basking and several hours a day exploring. In the winter he barely moves...

My tegus are usually slow starters, when their lights go on it takes an hour or two before they start moving around a bunch. I usually feed them 3-4 hours after they've woken up. After that they bask a bit more, later on I'll stick 'em in the tub and if they poop I let them roam around one of the bedrooms. After that they bask a bit then they seem to go to sleep. The smaller tegus tend to take naps or something, they'll be in their burrow and come out, then go back, etc.
I'd say they're more active than not though.

I would tend to think that captive ones are far less active than wild tegus that are having to catch their next meal to stay alive. Beauregard loves to bask, eat and hide in that order.
