I recieved a yearling Egyptian uro this morning from Deer Fern Farms. Scared me at first b/c he was lethargic from shipping. I gave him a warm soak for ten minutes and put him under the Powersun and he perked up quite a bit.

He's one great looking lizard. Very stocky and light in coloration, which may change once he acclimates.

I'm keeping him on white millet in a 75 gal tank (covered with paper towels on the sides for now). He has lots of slate flats for basking and a sterlite box with corrugated drain pipe for a "burrow". The box has playsand and peat inside.

I've got 125 degree basking surface temps and 90 ambient on the warm side. The cooler side is pushing 80. I've got a 100w Powersun and 2 halogen floods for heat. I may order a 160 MVB soon b/c the 100 isn't putting out as much heat as I had expected. Once he settles, I'll get him into the warm sun in the afternoon this summer. I also plan to move him to a 6ft stock tank before fall gets here. I want him to get big.

Congrats! Uros are seriously one of the neatest lizards in the hobby. I hate how its so hard to get a hold of most species, let alone locals. I really dig that you are going to use a stock tank, most people dont care to, but I try to push people to, so thats awesome!
