Hi there. So I'm getting my First tegu in two weeks at a reptile convention finally after wanting one for two years. Any advice for a first time tegu owner? I've done mass amounts of research on how to care for them but still have a few questions. For example it'll be the end of September when I'm getting it so will it be going into hibernation fairly quickly? If so should I feed it at all after I get it? I know they can rott from the inside out if they hibernate on a full stomach but should he go into hibernation quickly after I get him I won't know when he last ate and if he's starving. Also anything I should look for specifically when picking a tegu? Like clear signs of healthy or unhealthy? Please respond. Thank you
