filter in soaking dish?

I have a large dish which I clean daily for my tegu to soak in. There is also an additional dish for drinking water that I might take out and use for food later, since she seems to always knock substrate into it. I was thinking of getting a small low filter for her large water dish so she does not ingest her substrate (a mix of peat moss, eco earth, and cypress mulch) while drinking. It would be gentle, like one for a turtle enclosure. Would this bother the tegu, or be ill advised?

I don't see why it would bother her if her water dish really is that big and that dirty... Have you posted any photos of your setup yet??
