building new enclosure for elmo!! 10x3... mayb 2 or 3 feet high??

i have a window in the area that will b the cage... keep window? cover up window? i want to keep it so that during the summer she can look outside (i live in the south so we have looooong summers!!!) was thinking mayb have shelf for her to climb up, have a lil hide under it.

elmo loves water and showers so i wanted to make a pool with water falling down. yes? no? possible issues here wit her health?

bedding? i use eco earth and coconut now

ill have a nice basking spot and deep bedding, hides and a door so she can come out (the whole room will b hers). thats all i can think of, anything im missing?

now this is just an idea.... i plan to have this done in about 6 months.

I think they sell them at local pet shops, i saw one but it was a monster. Lol and 200. Dollars is a lot of money right after Christmas lol. But sooner or later it's gonna happen! They also have smaller ones but they are way to small for a tegu!

Are you putting the lights inside or out? A waterfall sounds like a great idea, but will need to be cleaned at least weekly to prevent mold/bacteria growth. If your tegu poops in the water it will need an awesome filter/pump. Eco earth and coconut is great substrate but for the size enclosure you are building will be very expensive.

what would work for substrate for a cage that big? ill have to clean the water every other day, my tegu thinks shes a fish. lol ill hang the lights from the ceiling or across the cage, idk yet. i wont b hanging the lights from the power cord tho, i have a few lights now that hang like that for my snakes so today im goin to fix that!

Dirt works great for substrate. I ask about the lights because a two ft high enclosure with lights mounted inside won't allow for deep substrate.
