Hey guys im new to the forum and am expecting a baby argentine B&W.

Ive been looking into enclosures and am not quite sure what size to go with for a baby tegu. I dont want to end up with something to big or to small, so what size do you uys think i should start off with?

Thanks alot, James

Welcome James, nice name. Minimum I would start with would be a 40 gallon Breeder. If you are going to build something, I would do a 4x4x3 and make it so that you can add on to it and eventually have a 8x4x3.

Haha yes very original name right? But thanks, i was looking at using a 50 gallon tank, and am planning on building one soon. Just need a little something to start with. Money is not a problem, I just want to do it the safe and best way for a healthy animal.
Thanks

I'm not quite sure. It is on sale at the local pet store but I am going to a reptile show this upcoming Saturday in Hamburg, PA to see what type of enclosures they have. I don't want to make any hasty decisions.

I actually have never seen a 50 gallon tank like it.... or a 50 gallon tank at all haha

I have a 50 gallon. The kid sold it to me as a 55 gallon tank, got there to pick it up and it's actually a 50 gallon. It's the same as a 40 breeder just slightly taller. The 40 gallon tops fit it.
