Enclosure Help?

Hi there, so we plan on getting our argentine black & white Tegu early next year and are currently in the process of building his future enclosure. It will be 8ft long, 4ft wide, and 2ft tall. Would this be sufficient for a fully grown adult Tegu?

How would we go about heating this size of an enclosure? What wattage bulbs would be needed and where should they be situated?

Welcome to the site.

The length and wide are great. I would make it a foot taller though itll give ur little guy or girl more space to burrow and alow you to play with ur temps easier. As for bulbs for basking I use halogen outdoor flood bulbs, 2 50watt bulbs give me a basking temp around 115 at my current hight. Plus you will need to get a uvb bulb, everyone has different opions about these bulbs but I have a 42" uvb bulb in mine and it seems to work just fine. You will want one hot side for basking and one cooler side. There are alot of people who have posted pics of their enclosures on this site those should give u a little idea on how to place everything.
