would this work, siliconing the edges and then putting heavy duty plastic on the walls so the moisture doesnt go through, or would it get torn up, and would 1/4 inch of maple hardwood (ply wood) be storng enought?

I have a feeling plastic would get torn up, or at least scratched up good, which would harbor bacteria and stuff so in the long run probably not a great idea for a permanent thing.

I just used it because waterbased and less fumes. I'm not sure what the majority uses.
