The time is coming... I'm hoping to start a new enclosure for my savy, ideally it would be done by summer (depending on my shoulder). I found this on another site, I think the author was an old member of this forum.. There was another tutorial but I couldn't track it down..
I'm hoping something like this might work, I've never built anything on my own before let alone for a reptile. :s

I'm not too sure if I like the mesh for a savy, the poster said that its good and sturdy (can be used for iguanas), I'm still a bit nervous that the savy might find a way out of it.. Right now my savys nails aren't bad but as it grows I'm hoping it'll stay mellow enough for me to keep them maintained.

The other thing I was a bit... cautious? about was the depth of substrate. Savys love to burrow, I'm hoping it would be deep enough (I suppose I can always modify it if not) to give it room to burrow. I've seen other enclosures with tubs/bins/etc build into the floor of the enclosure but I'm not sure I like it much..

Since it would be an indoor enclosure I don't think that I would include the door on the top of it. Depending on how large my tegu is by the time this is done I might just put my tegu in it and put my savy in my tegus current enclsoure.. Who knows. Any thoughts on this build for either reptile? Anything to add or remove? I've seen a lot of your guys' enclosures and I really value your opinions, you all do great jobs.

Yes it will work, I somewhat built my enclosure from that. I would use glass for the doors though. Unless you live somewhere that humidity isn't an issue the mesh won't let you keep the humidity up.

Ok cool, glass it is then! The mesh seemed a little bit iffy. Do you think that is enough height? I could go a bit higher if need be. I've seen various measurements for height.

4' is plenty, I only went 28" on mine, and hope it will be enough. I had to go 28" to fit it through my doorway.
