Cage Idea

For the base of the adult cage I was thinking of using either a metal storage tub or an old refridgerator than building on top of that. That way, I don't have to worry about the substrate ruining the wood. I could use a steel fridge? Would I be able to attach plywood to this?

This sounds extremely challenging to successfully do. My advise is to either simply build a cage, which isn't altogether to complicated, buy a used one, or if you want something metal get a large trough like many monitor keepers use.
