Building my tegus a home...a little help please

Hello Ladies and Gents I got 2 tegus come this Tuesday.. I'm super excited
I'm building this exact enclosure

I was wanting to know if it was a different type of bedding I could use instead of MULCH I don't want my guy to accidentally eat any mulch.. so I see some people have their tegus outside on the ground so can I use dirt or soil?? Because it will be like 2ft deep so they can dig if they wanna

Yes I am they both came from same clutch and they only 2months old I think

Do you have another enclosure in case things don't work as planned?

no I thought since they pretty much been together all this time ,will be shipped together and the enclosure is more than big that they would get along.. pics coming soon
