Of course tegus have different personalitys. The smaller lizards are more likely to have the same personalitys as they all run as fast as they possibly can from humans.

Reds are crazy lol jk, idk but to me with having 4 b/w's, 1 extreme and a red, the reds are a bit more skiddish than the others, the b/w's all tamed down quite fast but none are as friendly and often affectionous(spellcheck?) As the extreme, my red was a mean red eating machine lol, there were days I swear he tried anything to make me miserable, from pooping on me to biting me, without fail, he was very territorial too and although by far the smallest of all my tegus at the time he would chase/bite the others(some more than 5x his size)

What's the reputation of the AA's in comparison? Getting a Varnyard AA next week!!! Love to hear other's opinions. Hopefully, the personality of the 1/2 Extreme will shine through:p

My b&w is more of a butt head than my AA or red, lol. None are aggressive at all, just she likes to give me a harder time when going to the tub for feeding time. :p
This young red is a lot calmer than she was as a baby as well. She used to try and fly out of my hands, he just chills.

My AA is calm except around feeding time. He just has a strong feeding response.

My extreme seems more in tune to his surroundings and to where I am but is still skiddish but so much better than when I got him from his previous owner he used to have tremors and shaking fits when I would try to handle him. Tonka my B&W has always been super mellow but he is 2 so maybe it is the age. However he is a chow hound ad has a crazy feeding response. I think he tried to take a ite out of my tegu today because he was looking for food I have neverseen chey move so fast to get away from Tonka.

I love reading about all the different personalities of everyone's tegus. It is fascinating....they really are so different. Individuals. We thought we were gonna have a hard time with ours...it was very aggressive with the previous owner. But he turned out to be a total sweetheart...will even come crawl up your arm when it's feeding time. Very cool. :)

Kodo is a very mellow lizard. He is very calm around me and kets me do things with him that he doesn't let other people do. I am working very hard to make sure he's a friendly, well-socialized lizard.
