My boy Bob is very good about being let outside. He scratches on his cage to be let out and the goes over to the sliding glass door and scratches to go out. He hangs out in the yard for a while the comes back over to the door and scratches to be let in. Today he was insisting to go outside, it was only 48 degrees when he went out. He stayed out almost 2 hours basking. I took his temp when he come back in and he was 80 degrees I found interesting his basking spot he picked was 65 degress.

No expert by any means, but I would say it's fine. They thermoregulate themselves, and he seems to know where he wants to go. I'd assume if he got out there and it was too cold, he'd run by in, or burrow himself.

Last winter he would go out when there was snow on the ground. He would scoot around pretty quick in about a 15 yard circle, do his business and scoot back inside.
