baby bosc's

i have taken on 2 baby bosc from a young mum who bought them 4 her little boy who is 6 . she lives just a few doors down from she came n knocked my door for some advice on her 2 lizards she said that she had had them 4 5 days n they just seemed 2 b getting ill . i asked her what she had she said that they was some type of gecko . i asked her the norm ?'s like what set up she had n what light but she didnt really have a clue 2 no fault of her own so i when 2 her house 2 see her ill geckos i wont expecting 2 see 2 baby bosc . she told me that she had got them from a pet shop that told her that they good starter lizards 4 kids n that they only got 2 about 10 inch's n she bought them with a small 2 foot viv with just a norm light nheat mat . the kind man aka "w*****" then told her 2 feed them twice a wk . so after telling her that the set up was wrong . i dropped the bomb shell on her by telling how big they got n every thing she had been told was bull .. she asked me 2 take them off her hands there n then as they wont being cared for right n it was not fair on them . so we now have them 1 is about 3" n the other 4 i now have them in a 311 viv till they get 2 big then gonna build them a big viv . i felt really bad 4 her so have offered 2 give her 1 of my baby corns . but have given her the complet guild 2 cornsnake book 2 read first so she can make up her own mind n so she also gets the right info and knows what se getting this time .
we have named 1 lighting cos it has 2 b the quickest lil bosc i've ever held n the other we dont have name 4 yet but its so laided back n calm heres a pic

as for the pet shop im going down there at the wk end 2 see what they try n palm me off with am going 2 play dumb n say i know nothing about reps n thinking of getting something but have no clue where 2 start see how much bull ican listen 2 b4 correcting him nicely on what he is telling me

Dude thats just terrible. Could you imagine how that lady would have reacted when those babies started getting bigger and biting...

Actually, they probably wouldnt have gotten bigger.... considering they were in the completely wrong kind of set up. Good luck with them, and it was great of you to take them in!

they funny little things they aint stopped moving n eating. they little dust bins lol. glad we took them on now. as for the pet shop i dont know much about it didnt even think it sold reps . n is it worth me doing a BOI as i live in england

well off 2 pet shop later on cant wait 2 hear all that bull . n 2 see what he trys 2 sell me . my only problem is that im a sucker 4 reptiles in need so will end up wanting 2 buy all of them lol ... dont think the missus wud b 2 happy tho lol

well went 2 the pet shop!!! well it was a feed store with a side room with about 20 vivs in they had 5 vivs with lizards in them which was water dargons,baby bosc',baby leo's,tokays which was in the bosc tank, plated lizard which was marked up as a skink,anoles with fat tailed geckos in with them . all the tanks had 2 many in them none had ne type of uv lights n the tanks set ups were all wrong now in the others

there was lots of baby corns,kings 3 types which he hadin the same tank !!!milk snakes burmese pythons 5 in a small tank common boa large about 5 foot n bull snake n bairdsrat snakes think that was it they all seemed ok apart from fact they had them in tanks 2 small or 2 many in a tank a few of the corns looked 2 skinny

well now 2 the fun part the bloke came n asked if he cud help i told him was looking at getting my first reptile but i didnt konw where 2 start well that being said he started getting the lizards out n what got out first was the leos he was right with every thing he told me then he showed me the bosc which is where the bull started 2 spill he gave me the same spin he gave the young women with they dont get mch bigger than 11'' n that they a good starter lizard which he didnt say about the leos

then 2 the water dragons he well wrong about them told me that they only need small viv didnt much was easy 2 keep

it was the same 4 the plated lizard n he told me the tokay was easy 2 handle !!

now the snakes he was well off the mark withall his info when asked how big the boa got he told be she was full grown now. which is when i cud not take ne more n stopped him with comment well thats funny the boa my mate has is 10 foot n what the hell is he doing keeping kings in together when they eat each other n y does he nothave ne uv lights on ne of his lizards n y is he telling people that a lizard that gets 2 4 foot only grows 2 11" . at that point he asked me 2 leave his shop which i only 2 kindy done but not b for telling him what i truely thought of him n that i wud be reporting him which i have done ....can only hope something gets done now .

Wow I can't believe that guy kicked you out of the shop! I am VERY glad you reported him and really hope something will be done about this. This man sounds like hes absolutely nuts.
