Tomorrow i should be getting my new All American tegu and i wanted to know the best way to introduce her to my B&W Argentine Tegu, Sprinkles. I have a 8x4x3 foot enclosure that im finishing, but right now Sprinkles is in a 40 gallon breeder. I would love for them to be able to live in the big one together down the road. ( If the all american isn't extreme size full grown :fc )I have another 40 breeder sitting standby just encase they go after each other.

Any suggestions on how i can makes them best girlfriends?

p.s. prepare yourself for pictures!!!

Well when i introduced xander and zero i put them in a seperate cage and xander was a little scared because zero was so much bigger but i moved the into my devided 8x3x3 and xander is never far from zero. Lol xander looks at him like a dad! They should be fine just introduce them in a seperate cage or place so both are not familiar. Then letthem hang out a while 1 or 2 hours and then feed rhem (and watch close around food)

i had my black and white for about a month already when my red arrived.... i planned to house them together but when the red arrived i was shocked at how small he was and was truly worried the big tegu would eat him or kill him..... i put them together and watched closely and it turns out the little red guy was more of the less scared one even in his new enviroement and literally half the size of the other tegu.... he crawled all over to lay where he wanted to and she never seemed bothered by him... now here we are 6 weeks later and the red is only a few inches smaller then her and there fine together..... as far as when tehre adults i havent decided if i wana keep them together or not..... i think ull be fine just watch them closely for the first day and give them enuff room to bask not on top of each other and if possible dont feed them together

I talked to bobby today a little bit on the phone and he said the size difference would be too much to put them together right away, so they will have their own tanks until they get closer in size.

I would be worried having my Tegus together all the time.My Leonidas and Zeus are 2 years old and I just started to let them free roam around together about a month ago.Since Leonidas is always huffing and puffing I was worried that he would bite Zeus.Zeus is a bit smaller than Leonidas. But I gave it a try. They got along great.Zeus always followed Leo around and they cuddled up together and were sleeping together.Well the other day my boyfriend ( he was on the couch ) heard Leo huffing and puffing again and he looked down on the floor and saw Zeus bit Leonidas. He was shocked because Zeus is the skittish one.Thank God Leo didn't get hurt but we are ceeping them apart again :( .
