So I just got a Argentine Black and White a week ago, he/she is finally coming around and getting used to its new home but now I am addicted to these Tegus. The reptile store I go to has a Paraguayan Red that is a little squirmy but settled down for me pretty quickly ,he/she is a little bigger than my B&W but not by much maybe an inch or inch and a half , I have read that the paraguayan is the same as the argentine just from a different region ,so my question is can I keep these two together ? My plan is since they are both small now I will keep them together in a 55gal tank for maybe 3 or 4 more months and in that time build a 8x4x4 or a 10x4x4 enclosure for them both ,if I need to build a second enclosure in case they don't get a long when they get older I have plenty of room to do that. let me know what you guys think. If I purchase this little red I will post pics.

They are different species. The black and white tupinambis merianae or salvator merianae. The red is tupinambis rufescens or salvator rufescens depending on how current your literature is. That being said you probably can cohabitate them in a large enough enclosure. Maybe someone with experience can weigh in here as I've always keptmy monitors singly and haven't had enough tegus to say with certainty.
