wow just wow you know what half the time u really can't just blame the owners but the pet shops that they go to cause i go into pet shops all the time and ask them questions i already kno the answers to and half the time they dont kno or are just plain wrong but still it is the owners resposibly to do as much reasearch as possible before getting an animal and the sad part is they kno they have to there just too damn lazy

I feel very badly for that poor boa. I have a Brook's kingsnake that I keep in a 90 gallon and I wish it was even bigger.

That's a good size boa in a 30 gallon for the love of God!

i agree thats the exact reason i passed up getting a rtb because i didnt have the proper enclosure to house a 5.5' snake. and i cant tell you how many times i have been in a petshop and had to correct an associate on proper husbandry, care ect. most recently i was at a pets*a*t and a cutomer asked how too sex a ball and the associate was dumbfound so i stepped in(maybe i should work there lol id be fired within a day or two)

haha good job disguising the store name. Seriously though, its strange to think that people would get a pet and have no idea how to care for it. In the case of this snake, its weird that its owner decided to get a large animal when he doesn't even want to buy proper equipment to house it or even to prevent its escape. Screen tops aren't that expensive....

this reminds me of a conversation i had just yesterday with my brother about a video bobby have on youtube with a tegu who was severely stunted, because one of the tegus bobby sold to a petshop got purchased by a customer who gave the poor tegu vit. d3 as a substitute for uv. to me its redundant a argentine tegu cost over $100 uvb lamp maybe $30 it irks me how some people claim that a uvb lamp is too expensive yet they will purchase a $100+ lizard. here is the video i was referring to(warning its very sad):

no one should ever rely on petshops advice many(not all) give out information based on something they have heard but never experienced
