Hi there guys, recently i have noticed more and more ants in my tegu viv. so i cleaned the viv out and baked the wood and bark do kill any ants or bacteria, i then replaced my substrate which is, orchid bark, will ants be harmful to a young tegu? and how can i stop this???

not to deviate, but i too have problems with ants. except they come in from outside to bother us. they have been seen in my beardies tank every now and then. should i be concerned?

Depending on where you stay and the type of ants,.. they may be more of a nuisance than anything else. Since they are cleaners they don't stick around long once you remove what ever they're after and the scent trail they leave behind. The earlier you catch it the better so that there's not as many but every so often you'll still see scouts.

Instead of using pesticides you can wipe with vinegar and water or alcohol to remove the scent trail and they'll go away on their own.

I can live with ants,..:rolleyes: but can't stand to see or live with roaches.
