Hello i am interested in buying a baby red tegu and i have a 48 inch long 28 inch wide 28 inch tall vision cage that i was going to use as a raise up enclosure. How long will it last until i can build a 8x4x4 outdoor cage

I built a 4' x 2' x 2' Enclosure for my Tegu to start out in. Yours isn't much bigger than mine but even those few inches will make a difference...

Mine fit my Tegu wonderfully his first summer, he was quite happy with it...

My Tegu hibernated a deep hibernation from Oct through May of it's first winter...

My Tegu grew amazingly fast through it's entire second summer. The cage was plenty large enough at the begining of the summer but was too small for him by around mid summer...

If yours doesn't hibernate I would expect him to out grow it much sooner... if yours is a female I would expect it to last a little longer...
