Underground reptiles shipped me the one with the limb reduction and when I asked them what happened they said it was a mistake and if I wanted I could ship him back and they would send a replacement. The poor little thing looked so scared and sad that I just didn't have the heart to put him...
Maybe it is. Maybe it will fade? This is my second red. My first guy had no black on his nose or tongue but he was a high white red. The only reason it is a thing for me is I kind of feel like I can't seem to just get a nice, healthy, pure, red tegu. My first red was shipped to me with only nubs...
I can't contact the breeder though. Got him from Snakes at Sunset and they buy them from someone else. I'll just have to wait and see if his nose fades as he sheds I guess. Thanks for looking though!
Hi, I have had Edgar for about a month now and he was sold to me as a argentine red and he is finally starting to show some color. He is also starting to show a dark nose like a blue tegu. Is this normal or did I get a mix?
I didn't think that was normal. I guess it's possible he's on oddity but I'm thinking its more likely he is a mix of red & blue. Thank you for your response!

I know it looks terrible but he has no idea that he is any different than his brother. Just like a human child born with limb reduction he has learned to adapt and luckily he was born into captivity so he does not have to worry about predators. Because he belly scoots and is slow moving his...

Hello,
I have two juvenile tegus almost 3 months old, One is a blue red hybrid (Zane) and the other is a red (Rex).
Rex hatched out with limb reductions of both front legs. He was shipped to me accidentally and the people that sent him apologized and offered to exchange him for another but I...
Hi! I also have a purple 3/4 blue 1/4 red tegu named Zane. I can't wait to see how he turns out when he is older. He just had his first shed. Really nice temperament.
