Yeah with growing tegus there really is no overfeeding them. Now once they're adults, you need to watch what they eat or they do become overweight and unhealthy.
I have an AA and he is a TOTAL sweetie. I didn't raise him but in the weeks I've had him he's just been a doll. More so than my b&w that I work with on a regular basis. I don't see why people think reds are more skittish? They seem the same as any b&w to me. My baby red is actually really sweet...
There's a huge difference in how they look though, so you don't even have to go that far. Just tell them the tegu forums you frequent pointed it out and showed you the differences between the two.
Yeah, rabbits kind of scare me so I'm not sure I'd like to meet him in person! I was attacked by a pet rabbit as a kid, and have never trusted them since lol.
