Hey guys, I unfortunately have to find a new home for Tofu, my 2yo female red tegu. We are moving to a new place that does not allow large lizards. Asking for $300, with enclosure: $475. I am located in southern New Hampshire and would like local pick up.
We have had her for about 4 months...
She has started to have a groove in between her tailbase and lower back, going down her body length. Does this mean she is getting obese? I don't really know what an obese gu looks like.

I think a lot of people mix peat or sphagnum moss with some other substrate that doesn't hold as much humidity, I may be wrong though as I have never used it either.

LOL yeah, she has been buried for the whole day yesterday and hardly comes out (now that I put in an UTH in there for her to keep temps up she likes to burrow and lay on top of that). Perhaps she will wander out today since it is feeding day..
I just called Home Depot in Portsmouth and they will have hemlock mulch in by the end of next week. I asked about 100% cypress but they said they won't have any. I have been reading that hemlock is just as good though so I think I will get a bag of that instead!

So ever since Tofu has been put into her new enclosure she has started charging me whenever I put my hand in her enclosure. So far it has only happened when I first put my hand in her enclosure. She does not bite or anything, only charge reaaaaal fast then stop and posture...Does anyone know...
