I might have if I lived somewhere besides California. Only native species of hot snakes can be kept here :( I think I might have gone with an eyelash viper though ;)

    California

i had 2 columbians and they tamed down just fine. 30 inches is still a respectable size for a lizard. don't get me wrong, i like my argentines just fine but i've always felt that bigger is better when it comes to lizards ;) if the smaller size isn't an issue, columbians are cool too. oh, and...

    Illegal zoo in luggage

I've been to that market! It actually had a pretty tame array of animals. I didn't see anything that I didn't recognize from my local pet store and it wasn't even that cheap! It was kind of weird seeing an albino Cali king at a herp shop in Bangkok though. I can't believe the number of...

For now they're all in locking tubs except the larger beaded which is in a front loading, locking wood enclosure. The others will probably get the same when they're big enough. Not that much dedication is required but if I was ever goin to have kids the wife wouldn't have allowed it ;)

    Please help...

if it's eating you're probably fine. columbians don't tame down like argentines and when they're that small they are especially nervous. keep it well fed, handle it gently on a regular basis, don't worry about it trying to hide from you-it's a reptile, that's what they do most times.

I just picked up a baby C cerastes and a baby albino C atrox today and I have around 100 tarantulas(not that those are "hot"). I might post some pics later tonight or in the next couple days.

I handle them carefully but not as carefully as a rattler. I just pick them up by the tail and lay them on my hand. No gloves:) The treatment involves lots of painkillers as far as I am aware.

not really any aggression, they hiss and lunge when i go to touch them but never do more than head butt. they're still young though so i expect that they'll be more relaxed as time goes on. i haven't named either as i don't know the sex, so i just call them the big one and the little one.
