    Rescue, sort of?

What is his setup like now? Temps? Humidity? Substrate? If there is still shed stuck, I would still soak him daily for 30 minutes. I've also heard of people using olive oil with success at aiding in removing stuck shed.

    Future Tegu Owner

My best advice. Research, research, research. I know care sheets give varying information, but look around enough and you will get a pretty good general idea. A couple things. An argentine tegu needs an enclosure of 8 feet by 4 feet. That's big. The enclosure needs to be setup in a way that...

    Hello!!

I use powersun as well. They have to be kept a bit further away from the animal than your standard uvb bulb.

    Hello!!

Keep doing your thing. Without good advice, these forums would be pointless. Sometimes people just don't know.

    Rex and Bella feeding video

That's funny. Mine will sometimes take the mouse and walk away, but then come back like the female in the video. He usually just stays by the food though.

If you're looking for a recommendation since everyone advised against varnyard, I recommend teguterra. However, there are good breeders on this site as well!

    MONSTROSITY AT PETCO!!

My cousin works for a petsmart and she tells me some stories. The employees have no say in what goes on there. To some it's just a job, but others start working there for their love of animals. A lot of animals arrive sick. In the back where they "quarantine" the animals is worse than what...

    Advice

I sure with I could get inside their heads! Tegubuzz: I pet him today; his head and body included. He looked at me warily, but didn't show signs of aggression and didn't run into hiding. I'm going to try to continue this for a few days and hopefully pick him up this weekend.

    Petrie's thread

Thanks guys! I really need some better pictures. He is still shy, but is coming around. He let me pet him today for a while. I've been dipping everything in yolk and he is eating it up! Ground turkey, green beans, tomatoes, grapes, fuzzies, boiled egg white with a little shells. I'm glad...

    Advice

yeah, I was very pleased with the entire experience. Yeah, my guy seems more interested when I use the tongs rather than just sitting a plate there. I agree, it seems to be helping with the trust. He barely came out yesterday, and I work most of the day today so I'm just doing what I can...
