i built the cage about a year and a half ago. then last summer i moved the tegu in a outdoor enclosure i built. so this winter i brought the tegus back to this enclosure. im thinking about selling because the cost of feeding and housing the tegus is expensive and my wife does not like the tegus...
2 year old male, huge jowls and 4 feet long still growing. 1.5 year old female, massive eater and huge at 44 inches long and still growing. male 300$ female 250$ buy both tegus i will throw in my custom enclosure and all lights and lamps for a total 600$ gets it all. local pick up only.. NO...
i would almost bet your tegu had just eatin. is this correct?. after large meals tegus due tend to breath a bit like that. i also dont see any cause for alarm. runny poo is normal at times also, just not consistent
how long have you had this tegu?. is this a store bought tegu or breeder tegu? how big is the tegu? what size enclosure do you have this tegu in? when was the last time you fed this tegu? what was and is this tegus diet? if you can answer these q's that will help me with an answer for this problem.
you can can NOT reverse the damage of m.b.d.....but you can stop it from creating more damage... for example, if bones are deformed (kinked or curved) the bones will ALWAYS be that way. most stages of m.b.d is curable but in no way reversable. whatever damage is done is done..
i have never fed my tegus in a bin. i cage feed everyday with no problems. BUT i am in and out of the cage/enclosure numerous times in a day so i dont think my tegus associate me entering the enclosure with food. i never will or have fed anything with my hands like tongs or fork or rat by tail...
