    Occupation thread??

I'm an Archaeologist, it used to be great with lots of travelling all over the world but nowadays I'm mostly concentrated on a couple of large projects and spend more time behind a desk than I would like.

Any Blue's In Europe / UK?

I know a UK dealer who can normally get any exotic pet you could want (I know they recently shipped in two lions for example and I'm waiting on my DWA to pick up a Caiman from them) but even these guys told me they couldn't get me a blue. I'm thinking there are few, if any available in the UK.

    agressive tegu

Have you been feeding him by hand? They can also get enclosure aggressive, has he only now really settled into his viv and become protective of it?

    sore and kinked tail pleasehelp

Re: sore and kinckt tail pleasehelp Its quite a long way to the left right yeah, is it possible the bone broke while trying to shed? Wouldn't the tail drop if that was the case? It might be wasting of the flesh that makes it look that way though, its hard to see.

Re: sore and kinckt tail pleasehelp Glad you are getting some advice Andy, I knew the good people here would be able to help (it's Michael from Facebook btw). He has the tips of several toes missing from beofre I got him so he has had shedding issues in the past and I thought this might help if I get a problem in...

    alligator snaping turtle

I did reply to your post above but for some reason it didn't work. I don't think you are doing anything wrong and doubt you are caring for the turtle poorly. My Ally snapper started put with a basking spot but they simply dont use them. Sid will sit on one place for a month without moving and...

Whats so fun with ninja turtles?

I guess turtles can seem quite dull to some people. My Alligator snapper while literally go a week without moving and inch. He'll sit still for so long that weeds will grow on the back of his shell (which looks amazing by the way). Once a fish or something else to eat enters his tank though its...

Tegu laying on Back! Help needed.

Quick update for those who were interested. Bob hasn't flipped over for about 4 days now. He seems more and more alert each day and he is happy to be handled. He's started getting quite frisky around food as well. I think he had a lack of UVB and maybe calcium, both of which he is getting lots...

Tegu laying on Back! Help needed.

Thanks so much for your kind words! I do think we are slowly getting somewhere with him/her. I have to say that so far i've been very impressed with having a Tegu, i've owned alot of reptiles but this is the first one i've owned where the personality of the animal has shone through so quick...

Tegu laying on Back! Help needed.

No Flip today so no video, good news i guess. My new digital infrared thermometer arrived, and it read very diffrent from the other ones! The cool side of the tank is between 70-75, the middle of the tank is around 82-85 and the area near the basking spot was in the 90-95's. The basking spot...

    alligator snaping turtle

I'm in the process of applying for a DWA license in the Uk at the moment so that I can get a Dwarf Caiman. I find it strange that I can keep a Alligator Snapper without any kind of permit but i have to pay Ã?Æ?Ã?â??Ã?¢ââ??¬Ã?¡Ã?Æ?ââ?¬Å¡Ã?â??Ã?£1200 a year to the council just to own a...
