    watch-out/zoo-med power suns!! urgent!!!!

There are a lot of UV meters out there being sold but IMO the Solarmeter 6.2 is what you want for testing reptile lighting UVB output. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.solarmeter.com/model62.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return...

    Two Arg. Tegus

That is a give away!!!! Only two things stop me from snatching up these guys. :hifit The two day drive out there to get them and the seasonal temps which would endanger them if I sent you the stuff to ship them to me. Question; Why is the female unable to breed?

    Recommended UVB bulbs

If I may throw in here. I have tried both the Power Sun and the externally ballested Mega Ray. The Power Sun may be a good product is you run it through a UPS so it cannot experience power flux, or if you live in an area that does not experience power fluxuations, but if you have frequent power...

Why we cook our eggs before feeding.

That is an interesting thread. Something I took away from it in relation to this thread is that if you raised you own free range poultry it would probably be acceptable to use raw eggs from time to time. Is this correct or did I miss something?

1 question and 1 new idea!!

LOL, I can even remember when we knew that snakes would not eat dead prey so you had to raise your own rodents or by pet rodents from pet stores if you wanted to keep most species of snakes.

1 question and 1 new idea!!

That is exactly right Mr. Tegu. The sad thing is that there are no real studies that have been done that measure actual D3 production with X hours of exposure in X intensity sunlight for X days = X blood calcium level in any of the diurnal species of reptillians. Even when we look at Box Turtles...

1 question and 1 new idea!!

Glad you liked it. I only have that link because I joined a UV Meter owners group and that is where they post much of what they learn from their studies. Not that I have contributed anything though, I have not been able to log in to the group for years but I still get all the email discussions...

1 question and 1 new idea!!

Well if you are into some interesting reading you can try the following; <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.uvguide.co.uk/whatreptilesneed.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.uvguide.co.uk/whatreptilesneed.htm</a><!-- m --> I think though if you are wanting...

Got my Tegu back.. she's not in goog shape

Man, that made this old man want to cry. Such things are why I do not go on vacations anymore. If I may suggest, and perhaps Mr. Hill should confirm the suitability of this idea, Goose and Duck are both high in fat poultry. It might be an idea to see if you can get one or the other to grind up...

    Hey..

Nothing says you cannot open a Store if you have a Vet degree. We REALLY need more good reptile vets, pet stores not so much.

    Shipping News!!!!

I'm not sure where this should be posted and most of you probably already know, I'm always the last to hear things, but Pro-Exotics has been working with UPS to set up a program that will allow snake sellers to ship snakes through UPS. The negotiations are over and the plan will soon take...

How did you hear about TeguTalk.com?

I was lucky enough to run into an ad Mr. Hill had up selling some snakes I was interested in and made the purchase. Being impressed by Mr. Hill I kept running into him on a number of forums I belong to and read every word of his I spotted. Through this I became aware of this forum but it took me...

    Looking to get a Tarantula

Grammastola aureostriatum is a fair choice for a first T. Welcome to the wonderful world of spider people. DaveDragon, I'd be happy to drive over and get yours to add to our collection of refugees but the 4000 mile round trip would be a killer. LOL

    Wild Tegu Pics?

Thank you, thank you, thank you. That is what I was hoping for and that thread also gave me other searches and god info needed.

    Wild Tegu Pics?

Does anyone have any pictures, or links to the same, of Tegus in the wild. I'm really big on naturalistic habitats and am thinking of trying to replicate a natural environment.
