    cage lighting for a 5'x2'x15"

Yea most definitely a 5'x2'x15" for a baby or yearling. The height is not as important as the L and W. Tegus are not necessarily climbers, but that depends as well on the tegu they are like ppl they are all diff. I have heard of some loving to climb in their baby to yearling ages.

    cage lighting for a 5'x2'x15"

Never heard of it and tried looking for a sec but nothing came up. Do you think it could be cut and/or modified? Or can you send me a link to this material and I will check it out and let you know what I think.?:)

    cage lighting for a 5'x2'x15"

pauljr456 can you post some pics so we can get an idea of what you are working with to see if it can be modified to be larger? That is a little on the small side in my mind for an adult, but others might have some better input. Is it made of a material that can be cut easily so it's Length and...

    tegu misconception

No the issue is you! I am not going to waste my time doing that. I have better stuff to do(obviously you do not). Seriously Quit. Stop comparing me to other new members and stop doing what you are doing. I know what your immature self is doing and I will not feed into it. You here me. I am NOT...

    tegu misconception

There honestly is no use in communicating with you in my mind... I am going to do my best to stay out of threads you are involved in. :s

    Tegu caging

Yea most definitely cypress mulch will work(just make sure it is clean like discussed previously). A grand would be well enough for a darn good enclosure, a tegu(depending the type on which they range from $150 to $400).I would get one from Varnyard Herps owned by Bobby Hill. As far as your...

    tegu misconception

I agree. I think james.w is rude and makes un-called for statements in a lot of threads. Instead of providing information or resources he seems to look down on them. Also as a forum moderator I would think that you would have the correct traits to effectively execute this role. General def...

    Tegu caging

I really like how the members in this thread are providing really good info based on their experiences with their tegus. Having many points of view can really help, plus the geographical area you come from can have an impact especially with humidity concerns, in my area the humidity is not so...

    Tegu caging

Much agreed aba zappa. When I mentioned soil earlier maybe I should have been more specific for the people who like to analyze a criticize what other members say(james.w) I meant not to use your regular potting soil which includes fertilizers, larva, bugs---care sheets go over all of this...

    Tegu caging

....having a little put away for the just in case type things are also a good idea. Researching local vet's in your area are a must because not all vets are experienced enough with reptiles in general, much less tegus. I definitely understand the money aspect. I would say having a pet tegu...

    Tegu caging

Bringing a tegu into your life or family is an exciting thing!!Owning a tegu and and all the tasks and care associated with it are a rewarding experience ONLY if you are passionate about it in my mind. I would suggest taking some time to do extensive research on the costs of housing, feeding...

    Which UVA/UVB bulb is best?

Yea it is very essential that your tegu have a warmer end for basking(put all fixtures on one side) and warmer temps, and then the other end for the cooler side. The thermal gradient will change from one end to the other and allow them to hang outside of their hide or hides. Occasionally they...

    Tegu Safe Plywood Sealant

Thank you Dana C!!! I think I am going to actually try this product called, "Seal-Once™ Waterproof Wood Protector - Eco Friendly" (link: http://www.seal-once.com/eco-friendly/waterproof-wood-sealant) it will waterproof/seal any wood that emits VOC's and has a pretty good rep and contains no...

    Tegu Safe Plywood Sealant

Cool deal thanks for looking? I also found another one called, "DEFY Extreme Clear Wood Stain". It apparently meets VOC compliance (Volatile Organic Compounds ) which cause head aches, cancer. Besides all this not fully un-proven speculation and ONLY California Health Issue claims.... Has...
