Perseverance is the key. Mine got really cage aggressive, I just scoop him up with both hands underneath the belly and put him on the floor. Grip him firmly but not too tightly so that he can't hurt you or himself. Don't use the towel if he hates it, it will only worsen the situation.
well it's the owners decision whether or not this method will work, of course the tactics you mentioned I think are also very effective. It depends what kind of personality your tegu has really...some take to gentle handling well some don't...
Well it worked brilliantly for Ty and it might work for other tegu owners, anyway you are supposed to hold the food so that when he climbs up on you he can't reach it. Then give him the food.

Monti sometimes makes these weird noises. Its like a soft wheezing noise and not as harsh. I've checked her mouth and she has not mouth rot but she does sometimes refuse to eat mice.
