Jefroka, it wasn't a big deal really.. I have an affinity for amazon tree boas so I know aggression all too well.
This is the latest poor interaction with an amazon, but i can't just NOT love her, right?
Tegu didn't even leave a mark, and yes hands were washed and all, just seemed...
Quick question, today I was attempting to coax my new tegu (Barris) out of his cage, so I put my hand down on the substrate about 6 inches away and slowly moved in, he didn't run, but in the process one of the cypress mulch pieces got flicked up and he ran over to it like it was a prey item. I...
I just got mine. I held him for a bit and then released him into his new home and he went all the way across the cage to his burrow like he had lived there all his life. :P Smart little guy.
We can't really tell you for sure.. who knows how much heat it gets from the sun? Certain questions like these are not answerable. If you want to use the lamp that's rated for 150 watt, then use the Powersun 100 and check your temps. Unfortunately if you cannot achieve the correct temps you may...

As far as substrate goes, cypress mulch does a good job. the peat moss may just be a...
Hmm, not sure. It seems to me that as long as he isn't having trouble finding his basking platform and burrow hide it shouldn't be a problem. (Seeing as he's fed outside the enclosure anyway, so he doesn't have to hunt for food)
You can use plywood successfully just be sure to take a little extra time to seal it thouroughly. KILZ brand primor is good and you can get it at Home Depot. I did a couple of good coats with a layer of my finishing color of paint on top. (Exterior Behr paint is what I used exactly) Just let it...
