hmm, it doesnt really look like that pic. They kind of look like bubbles sticking out. Its usually only like it in the morning before he has warmed up then it goes away. He eats raw meat and f/t mice. It doesnt sound like mouth rot. I attached a pic.
My tegus gums have been swollen for a while now. Some days they look fine while other days they are swollen and sticking out between his lips. He just finished 2 weeks of baytril and maloxicine or something like that. There's no change. Could he be teething or have an abscess? He's about 4 years...
Nope, didnt look like that. In that pic its gum, or bottom lip is hanging down. My tegus mouth looked normal, still fully closed. Just had a little pink bubble of his gum popping out. But his lip was not drooping. Its been fine since yesterday morning though. Im keeping an eye on him.

My tegu escaped from his tank and was hiding. All he could see were my feet and he must of mistaken me for food and attacked me. I am fine, but I'm wondering if I should go to the hospital and get a shot to prevent infection?

The room is warm.. like 80-85F.. from all the reptiles I have in there.. And . his hide is right next to his heat lamps and he spends all his time in there sleeping. I took him out today and he was freezing. I donÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢t get it. He wont come out and bask. All he does is sleep.

Im not sure what was wrong with him before. Someone suggested he might of caught something from his water dish. The vet here didn't know.. we dont have a herp vet here. I treated him for internal parasites and blood poisoning because they were my 2 guesses. Anyway, hes doing good now!
My sav, Bosco wasn't doing too well a few months ago. I finally found someone to build him a bigger tank. Its 2 1/2 feet tall, 3 feet wide and 6 feet long. Thats the biggest I can give him right now.. he has lots of space in there though. The front door is wire, but I have a piece of plywood...

Blood mites were not ruled out.. .. I assume youre talking about the common external mites.. I treated all my reptiles for that a while back because of a wild caught Brazilian Rainbow Boa I bought from a pet store.
