Ok. Not a problem. I specialize mostly in snakes; particularly arboreals. To bring out certain traits in GTP's and emeralds, breeders often will inbreed the animals. Is it a good thing? Well, I can't say it's better than NOT doing it of course. But there are usually little, or no negative...

I was going to address your comments until I go to the last part. Now I can see it'd just be a waste of time... Also, I'm somewhat disappointed that a "moderator" would say such a thing. Seems very childish...

Not necessarily. There are plenty of species that have inbred for generations due to the small numbers in their populations. It all depends on the number and amount of genetic diversity. And when it comes to reptiles, they are more able to adapt to these conditions. Some reptiles can reproduce...

Perhaps, but in the animal kingdom it happens all the time and usually isn't an issue due to their simplistic genetic makeup. The more complex the organism, the more serious the effects will be.

Hey Dave. I disagree. I've seen lots of variation in patterns and colors between different blue tegus. I've seen some with tons of white and others with tons of black. Also, how do we know that the 6 or 8 imported were from the same clutch? Did the person who imported them confirm that...

    Will Blue's disappear?

Yea, I'm not sure that's the best thing to do nowadays... lol! Who brought in the lot of blues in the beginning?

    Will Blue's disappear?

Well, it would really be nice if someone with some knowledge in this arena would speak up with some info on how to do this. Obviously someone out there knows and could lend a helping hand... it's all a question if they "want to" help...

    Will Blue's disappear?

Ok, well, my Blue is perfectly healthy and doing great. If it really is a problem, what can be done about it? Can anyone bring some WC in? Who can do this?

    WANTED: Female Blue Tegu

I have a pair of high-end GTP's coming my way... they should prove to be one very interesting breeding... one is coming this weekend and the other will be a few more weeks...

    Will Blue's disappear?

Well, I've been looking for a nice female blue for about 8 or 9 months, and I haven't found much for sale... a few babies and an albino here and there, but no decent adults or subadults for sale. The adults I found are pets in private collections and aren't for sale. I think this may eventually...

    Hm a female blue

I just found this thread... I'm the one looking for a hi-white female. I saw that ad and I immediately thought it looked like a young male... Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts when you see a female blue. Remember, I'm willing to pay a finders fee or some sort of compensation that we both...

    WANTED: Female Blue Tegu

Sounds great hoosier! Find me a nice hi-white female that's a good match for my male... doesn't have to as white as my male, but it has to be nice looking. Finders fee is either cash or some other reptile offer that we agree on... I'm open to help you if you help me! :-D
