I think it's overrated I use a mix of dirt from my backyard mixed with sand and leaf litter I use a bag or two of cypress just bc I think it keeps mites and bugs out and help to hold her borrow
In my older indoor enclosure I had a nice mix of like 6 bags of organic top soil couple 5 pound bags of play sand and couple bags spagnom Moss with leaf litter from my backyard
used dry lock extreme mixed with black acrylic paint couldn't get it darker then this might use a concrete dye mix with little water might be little more concentrated on my next cage
