In the event that Greg is still out there, somewhere, attempting to sell tegus I would advise avoiding at all costs.
My own post on the Fauna BOI regarding my experience:

My original BOI post was informative, rather than a warning...
They should employ these "cruisers" to capture the tegus. We all know that herpers are better than non-experienced hunters (burmese python hunt is a great example).
I do think that, if there was a way, they should collect records of people who are owed a tegu and work on adopting these out to...
This reminds me of a post on tumblr:

Any time someone makes a joke about chopping my snake's head off with a shovel, or any sort of offensive joke for that matter, I just keep telling them "I don't get...
My boas are in clear plastic rubbermaid tubs, simply because they hold humidity. When I've got a more permanant residence I plan on building my own stacking enclosures as well as wall-sized display tanks.
And the "if you'll get bored don't get it" comment wasn't directed at anyone...
I'm gonna disagree with the statements about boas ;)
I currently keep 3 BCIs and each of them are incredibly active in their enclosures and active while out as well, of course I'm more interested in snakes than other reptiles. I've taken them all outside before, the two smaller don't seem...
My fiance and I are both incredibly into reptiles...so much so I got him something with scales for Valentine's Day...lasts a hell of a lot longer than a box of chocolates!
Sometimes it can get a bit monotonous, talking about where to go with our breeding projects and what to expand on next...
I highly doubt someone would harm, let alone kill, themselves because someone is criticizing their husbandry or purchase habits.
I agree some wording can be harsh on this forum, but the world can be a harsh place. Real bullying is a different beast entirely.
And FYI:
Suicide is not a joke, so...
If its aesthetics that you want and size really isn't a problem for you then its not a good idea to flatly state that the size, of your tegu now, is currently a problem.
Whoooaaaa, reading your other thread you just got him right? Are you sure housing him with any other reptile is a good idea, especially without going through proper quarantine with him?
Granted, I'm a snake person, but I'm preeeeeetty sure you're meant to QT any new reptiles being brought in...
Its important to realize that not all snakes are the same, they can all have different attitudes depending on how they were treated.
I own 3 BCIs, 2 of them are sweethearts, totally docile and have no issues being handled. The third is bitey, hissy, and pissy; if you so much as try to touch him...
Those temps seem REALLY high to me....somewhere in the low 70s with a high of 85 on the hot side is fine.
Did you hibernate or brumate him at all?
You very well could have him thinking its time for mating...so naturally he'll refuse food and be more active.
Are we though? Perhaps if more people turned away from TV and decided to find more interactive ways of learning, rather than following fear-mongering types on a screen, we'd be a better people.
I, honestly, prefer reading to watching television. Its a great way to learn from experts, immerse...
