I've been to the white plains expo probably 3 or 4 times and have always seen tegus there, especially in July there should be some babies. A few breeders babies have been hatching in the past week or two. Not sure of any of the breeders names.
They're $30 cheaper and I would assume it has to do with the amount of each tegu they get. Looks like they have over 100+ chacoans, and I'm not sure how many "normal" B&ws
There's the reptile expo in White Plains, New York in early July that will definitely have some tegus, might be a 3 hour drive for you, from southern CT it's about 2 hours or so.

Blue tegus tend to stay smaller than other argentines, but are also more exspensive. Colombians are also able to become just as tame as argentines, are cheaper and stay a little smaller. Also they don't hibernate like argentines..
Mine is kind of the same way, as soon as I put my hand in her cage she jumps onto it and comes out but then doesn't want to sit still.. Should calm down eventually mine is only 6 weeks old.
1. You at least handle your tegu once everyday when you take him/her out to feed.

The cheapest would be Colombian tegus, then argentine black and whites. Which that site should be selling argentine black and whites next year and I would assume they would be under 250.
