He doesn't care it seems, I think I'm kicking myself more than he is lol.
I take him to the vet about every 3 months or so to get his nails trimmed, I could do it myself but he gets mad and holds a grudge for days so I would rather pay the 5 bucks. She likes to see him and she swabs his mouth...
I get mine out every day for at least an hour soak in the rub. When I got him I left him alone until he came to me. It was hard! Imagine having a new puppy and you have to ignore it... I slept in a shirt for 2 nights and when he came I put the shirt in his enclosure. It takes time and patience...
Well he was almost 40 inches. Until last night his tail broke off cause he escaped and got it caught. He's down 7 inches. He is right around 2 years old.. Maybe.. Unsure cause he was wild caught. Hes a male had him at the vet due to the tail and he weighs 3 lbs 4 Oz.
So it finally happened yesterday after I just bragged how careful I've been with his tail.. He escaped his enclosure and got it stuck and left it behind... I was beside myself.. I contacted Rodney Irwin and he made me laugh about it saying he was the same tegu just cosmetically challenged...
My tegu I got from Rodney in April of last year. Take an old t-shirt sleep in it for 2 nights then put it where he sleeps.. He will associate your smell with safety. I heard all this hoopla you have to feed them every day when they are juveniles blah... They like what the like. Mine refuses to...
That tegu is obese.. And just like people obesity comes with other complications, MacGyver pisses off my vet. A tegu should not be that fat, the belly should not drag the ground. I honestly beleive they enjoy feeding him and I think they mean well. I thibks it was one of those I wonder if he...
I would get your guy to a vet.. One that specializes in reptiles.. My tegu had a tiny spot on the end of his tail.. The very tip.. I posted here thinking it could be rot or something. I took him to the vet and she said it was an injury that happened a long time before I got him and it was...
Who knows? He was wild caught in the Everglades by Rodney Irwin at Tegus only. He could have some high white in him, he had the firebelly when I first got him but that faded quickly.. Now hes more a peach belly lol. Someone asked me if he was a high white and he had the traditional yellow...
Ok so I have had my B&W tegu for over a year now.. Grown from 22 inches to nearly 40. He is shedding and looks very pale. Now I know they have a tendency to get pale but he has been like this since his last shed. I have changed nothing in his environment and I actually had someone ask me if he...
I am a new tegu owner as well. He ate really well the first two days, probably because he was starving. He didn't eat for three days after his first vet visit. I called them, they said not to worry. I would suggest taking a stool sample in to a reptile vet and have your baby checked for any...
Yeah, she said it was caught early and wasn't infected because I had been cleaning it like you suggested, thanks btw! Good news is we have no parasites which surprised her from being wild caught.
