I just finished sealing the cage with polyurethane, inside and out. I was wondering what a good amount of time would be to let it sit before putting the tegus inside. I've heard 2 days but I just wanted to double check with everyone. The sooner the better since they are living a clear rubbermaid...
mine do the same thing, but they only bask for 30mins to an hour and then go back to sleep and then I'll see them for brief periods throughout the day. One comes out more than the other for sure, and they both came from the same breeder.
If you want to fly here to NC, I'll sell you mine. If you are that anxious just get a savannah monitor. I hear they can be tamed as well, just not as tame as out argentines
Hi, I just purchased a food processor so I can mix the ground beef and liver in a 3:1 ratio. I was wondering if I could mix some fruits and vegetables in with it before freezing since they eat that too. They are little now and I've read they won't eat fruits till later but I was wanting to maybe...
I live in between Jacksonville and Wilmington, If you wanted it I could meet you in Jacksonville. Would save alot on shipping. Your closer than I thought. I though Havelock was further than that, like an hour and a half from Wilmington it looks like.
This is the one I got for free at the expo in Raleigh May 1st. Was purchased from LLLreptile. REALLY want to keep it but just dont have the room for two...

Can these be within 18'' of the tegu and still provide a basking spot of 105 degrees or so? I know the higher wattages have to be like 24'' minimum from them. I just want to switch to MV bulbs because they don't lose their UV output over time like the tube lights do. Since its spring now I'm...
I'll try the t-shirt thing when I put them in their new enclosure. Right now one of my t-shirts would take up 50% of their cage. What they are living in temporarily is gonna be their future feeding bin. I'm building a 4'x4'x1.5' enclosure now that is going to be their home for like the next 8...
I thought they looked very healthy too. People are saying they might have parasites but they sure do look healthy. They still don't like to be held yet but I hope I'm gaining their trust more everyday. I've noticed they can stink a cage up pretty quick, I have to change the cypress mulch like...
Is there a medicine I can give my tegus to rid them of these parasites or is it still not 100% they have parasites? I'd like to know because I don't want them getting sick and dying. Even if they are imports, they are just as good as any other argentine tegu in my eyes. Even ones hatched by a US...
I do the exact thing mentioned above with vinyl fence, been doing it for years. Lol and your right about the sounds if sand gets stuck in there! I've heard that sound atleast a thousand times I'm getting flash backs. But yeah you can make sliding tracks for less than $10, I've built whole 6' x...
