Hi! I've been caring for reptiles for 4 years now and have never had anything like this happen. We got in a juvenile Gold Tegu a few months ago and hes been doing great up until a week ago. My coworker and I noticed he was a bit lethargic and took him out immediately to take a look. Lo and behold, he had a decent sized peice of wood stuck in his gums. Hes been kep on eco earth his entire time mere and we figured it must of came from his decor. We got it removed and ever since then he has had a swollen red bump right on his mouth. We clean it daily but hes only gotten more lethargic and now he keeps his inner eyelids closed all the time. He only opens then when hes agitated. We cleaned and disinfected his whole tank. No improvement. Any ideas?
