I am a graduate student who is considering working out the genetics of blue tegus in relation to the other species (especially with regards to T. merianae), and was wondering if people here on TT might be able to send me shed skins for DNA analysis. Gone are the days when animals need to have blood drawn or livers snipped--I can do it all with shed skin. All tegus and owners will remain absolutely anonymous, and I will gladly pay all shipping charges. If anyone is interested, please let me know. In addition to blue tegus, I'd also be interested in receiving samples of red, gold, and black and white tegus. Thanks!
