Humidifiers should be able to be placed almost anywhere since the moisture is so fine it will float rather than drop right down. I think middle or high if anything. You can also try to mount a tiny fan next to it to circulate the moisture better... I use 2 big AC Infinity fans on the ceiling of my guys enclosure to provide air circulation within the enclosure (you can find them on amazon), they work great... they come in all sizes and have 3 speed settings.
