Hi we have a sub adult male tegu we got a month ago

We don’t know his age at all . N just trying to figure out if he going threw puberty . He tryed biteing when my man tried picking up with his hands we go slowly. He puffs up a lot. How can we get him to tame down. I own tegus in past just not adults . His tail re grown back that’s how we got him n he has scars
What should I do thank u he a Argentine black n white tegu

Patience. If he's huffing and puffing, and trying to get away, he may just be unsure of his new home. I had a male that took a good 10 months to tame, and he's very docile now, and easy going. Some Tegus take longer than others. Lots of patience

You need to re-bond with this little individual. Everything is going to work out fine eventually he'll be all up in your face. LOL give him time he's re-acclimating. I have a beautiful one-year-old also I've been through everything with this individual. Don't pester him just lay close and allowed him to come to you if your close and ignore his inquisitiveness will take over. Remember temperature is everything!
