Do male or females grow faster?

    I just want to hear your guys and gals opinions on if males or females tend to grow bigger my blue female is same age as my blue ice male and she is 3 times his size.

    Male Argentines get much bigger than females. In blues, jowls aren't as big and I don't think the male is so much bigger than the female. In your case, could be the female gobbles all the food or in some way inhibits him from eating as much as he should?

    They aren't in same cage so have no idea how it's possible unless shes older n idk I just got them

    Tough to tell without knowing history. Feed and monitor him. Should grow quickly if he's small because he's young.

    I found out they are same age and were fed equal amounts she is just probably 3 times his size though

    That surely makes no sense to me. Weird genetics, perhaps?

    Ya only other conclusion I've come to is if he brumated and she didn't

    They don't shrink like that in brumation.

    Obviously I know that but if one hibernatied and other did not would be noticable size differences

    Sorry - wasn't trying to infer anything......just saying 3X size is a heck of a lot, and I'm thinking it doesn't happen like that in brumation. Didn't mean to insult at all.

    If one brumated it would remain the same size while if one didn't the other would continuously grow. But idk
