    Great deal for someone...

It was a high-white (B&W) argentine female for sale. I believe it was around $165 or so. Really pretty individual. I believe the ad has been taken down.

    Barry

I'm surprised he actually hasn't bitten yet. In my experience the terrible 1's generally is filled with lots of hand nomming and general unpleasantness. Sounds like you've got a pretty mild mannered 'gu. One thing that might help this is trying some more non-feeding interaction around the cage...

    New tegu owner needs help!!!

Ha - I've done the same thing with many of my reptiles. Just recently I got some ackie babies, and I incessently check on them.

    New tegu owner needs help!!!

You more than likely just startled him. One particular tegu I have will throw a hissy fit (literally) if she's woken up too suddenly. She'll hiss and huff and puff. I generally just let them do their thing if they're sleeping - I only really interact when they're up and about.

Received My 6 week old hatchling today and...

You probably shouldn't have done that. More than likely would've been easier to just untie the bag and put it into the cage. Not that the briefest of negative handling will really have any effect, but many times it's good to associate yourself and handling with positive experiences! You're...

Why is my young Tegu always climbing on my head?

I've never really heard of tegus being afraid of heights at all. As adults they may feel uncomfortable or unsure if they're lifted up while their entire body is not supported - but other than that I've never observed it. I remember sometime ago someone speculated that tegus may be somewhat...

Do they always try to get away?

My only tegu who really fits the description of a lazy lizard would be the one who has a slight back problem. She would prefer to just sit with me wherever I happen to be. She's a cuddle bug and likes attention overall. For the most part, others tend to be somewhat of free spirits and much...

    Leopard Geco Identification

Nice geckos. Leopard geckos are pretty easy (relatively speaking) to sex. Males generally show quite obvious hemipenal bulges at the base of the tail, and equally obvious preformal pores. Females vary from slightly displaying these traits to not showing them at all. However, I have had males...

Pressure treated wood for outdoor cage (pine)

This. You may also want to consider using a hardcore packing (gravel, etc.), and you could even lay a slab of concrete under it using rough 2x4s as a frame. Any way works and is fairly cost efficient.

    Leopard Geco Identification

Heya, no problem. The eyes would be particularly helpful to infer whether or not you have any eclipse in these guys.

Can a tegu do fine without whole prey?

Ha. Okay, sure thing. I suppose I will agree to disagree.

Can a tegu do fine without whole prey?

Right, because that's exactly what I was saying? I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong, and I frequently ask others for their own experiences - and often find out I was wrong about something. More than once I've been corrected on this very board. I just get tired of people literally...

    Leopard Geco Identification

I'll take a little bit closer of a look when I sit down tonight - but off-hand it looks like, #1 - normal, #2 looks to be an albino of one of the strains. The red/brown suggests Bell to me, but that's a toss up. #3 looks to be a hypo of some type (in shed?), some carrot tail in there. #4 looks...
